Partnership Day: Sustainable Resource for the Future, FROAST’s Culmination produced 23 agricultural partners; launched IEC Materials

Fostering Robust Organic Agriculture Sustainable Technology (FROAST) held its culmination day dubbed as, Partnership Day: Sustainable Resource for the Future, 22 June 2022 at University Hostel. The said event is attended by various organic growers: Teachers Ip, Rio Garden, Bio Farm, 4Cs Farm, Felisicima Homeowners Association Fruits and Vegetables Farm, Agribusiness Farm Wokers Entrepreneur Association, Joey’s Farm (Munting Hardin sa Gubat), Samahan ng mga Magsasaka at Guro sa Institusyon (SAMGI), Briquettor Association of the Philippines Inc., Noi’s Rabbit Farm (Noi’s Integrated Farm), and Munting Paraiso ni Yolly Farm. The culmination activity was also an avenue of promotion and recognition and in fact IEC materials such as comics, magazine and coffee table book were introduced. The said materials are through the efforts of the College of Arts and Letters.

Dr. Reynaldo Naguit, Chancellor for External Campus in his welcome remarks as the representative of the Executive Vice President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres, focused on the goal of the partnership emphasizing that establishing common goals strengthens the foundation and act as a glue that holds the alliance together and noting, open communication is important in an alliance.

The Rationale was delivered by Dr. Elizabeth A. Chua the FROAST Project Leader and Director for Extension Services Office stating that the event’s purpose is to celebrate the contributions of organic growers in strengthening the organic agriculture in the Province of Bulacan.

For the inspirational message, the University President, Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon left a challenge for everyone to really continue on assuming the role of practicing what the project is advocating which is to promote and sustain producing and consuming chemical free foods and fibers. She also hoped that FROAST will be a part of the solution to restore our ecosystem’s sustainability.

On her gratitude message, Dr. Irene M. Adion, Research Division Chief of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III lauded Bulacan state University’s contributions in different areas of studies asidefrom organic agriculture. She also wished all the organic practitioners to be part of participatory guarantee system.
