The Food Innovation Center

The university has been the recipient of the Department of Science and Technology High Imapct Technology Solutions (DOST-HITS) Roll-Out project for Region 3. The goal of the project is to provide specific equipment to address the food processing needs of the industries in the regions. The Region 3 FIC was given to the university given its tract record for addressing the needs of the food industry in Bulacan and in the region. The equipment in the facility have undergone performance testing with various industry partners and modifications to improve performance. These are the water retart, vacuum fryer, vacuum packaging machine, freeze dryer, and spray dryer.

GOALS

  • To produce value-added food products through innovation.
  • To develop procedures for food processing using the FIC equipment.
  • To facilitate transfer of technology used in the development of FIC products.
  • To equip the food manufacturers and processors, SMEs, LGUs, and other sectors with relevant food processing knowledge and techniques.
