Estacio was chosen. It was a two-day research Conference hosted by the University of the Philippines  Diliman College of Architecture.

In keeping with the tradition of sharing knowledge produced by academics in the designed and built environment fields, invited interested participants from architects in the academe to the 14th Annual Conference on Architecture  Research and Education (ACARE) 2021 with the theme: “Spatial  Revolutions through Trans-disciplinary Knowledge Production”  ACARE 2021 follows a long history of collaboration among educational institutions offering degree programs in Architecture and Landscape  Architecture. Over the last 16 years, conferences have been hosted by different universities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This year, the journey comes full circle as the University of the Philippines College of Architecture virtually reopens its doors to welcome faculty, students, and researchers who have research and creative work to share.

This year, ACARE expanded the engagement to bring in industry, communities,  and the general public to be part of the discussions that will follow the academic presentations. With the goal of making knowledge production more meaningful, targeted beneficiaries will be invited to enable knowledge transfer and application.

Spatial Revolutions amplify the dynamic nature of design concepts as the contexts which they co-create continue to evolve over time. Revolution signifies innovation, which is requisite to creating alternative futures. Trans-disciplinary encounters allow the inter-lapping of specialized knowledge to produce new theories. ACARE 2021, hosted the convergence of provocative ideas that interrogate and shake the status quo in different intensities.
